Remove ads
The Anajás River (Portuguese: Rio Anajás) is a river of Marajó, which itself is an island in the mouth of the Amazon. It is located in the state Pará in northern Brazil.[2] Its source is in the swamp areas called mondongos that are normally flooded during the wet season.[3] In the 1980s, there were plans to connect the Anajás to the Anabiju River through a canal.[4]
