Babol County(Persian: شهرستان بابل) is the most populous county in Mazandaran Province and the second most populous county in northern Iran. [4] Babol County consists of 6 districts, 7 cities, and 673 villages. The center of this county is the city of Babol.[5][6] The elevation of Babol city is 2 meters below sea level, making it the lowest city in Mazandaran Province. The elevation in this county, from the north to 10 kilometers south, is below sea level. The city of Babol is divided into two urban areas. In the 2016 Census, the population of Babol was 250,217, and the population of Babol County was 531,930.
