Lilium japonicum, the bamboo lily, is a species of flowering plant in the family Liliaceae.[2] It is native to central and southern Japan.[1] A cold-hardy bulbous geophyte growing to 50 to 100 cm (20 to 40 in) tall, it is often found in association with bamboos of the genus Sasa, which it resembles in its stems and leaves.[3] It is used in Shinto rites.[3]
