The Benevenutan Rite was a Roman Catholic liturgical rite used in the "Beneventan" zone composing of Southern Italy and Dalmatia characterized by the usage of Benevenutan Chant and Script.

Due to its popular vernacular name as "Cantus Ambrosianus" and the similarity between this Rite's particular style of chant with that of the Ambrosian Rite's, it is likely a common ancestor proceeds both Rites. This liturgical ancestor probably originated with the Lombards as they controlled both Liturgical Zones at one time.[1]
