C.S. Cârcea (Club Sportiv Cârcea) is a Romanian amateur football club based in Cârcea, Dolj County, Oltenia, Romania. They currently play in the Liga IV – Dolj County, the fourth level of the Romanian football league system.

History

The club was founded around 2008 as part of the local sports development project supported by the Cârcea Commune Hall. Initially competing in Liga V Dolj, C.S. Cârcea quickly became one of the most active local teams, earning promotion to Liga IV after several successful seasons.

Over the following years, the club has been a regular presence in the Dolj County championship, developing a reputation for consistency and strong performances. In the 2024–25 season, C.S. Cârcea achieved one of its best results, winning the Dolj County title and finishing ahead of clubs such as RFG Melinești, Metropolitan Ișalnița, and Știința Cerăt.[1]

The club is supported by the local community and the Cârcea Town Hall, which maintains the home ground, Stadionul Cârcea, a small facility with around 500 seats.[2]

Cârcea is a commune in Dolj County, in the historical region of Oltenia, Romania. It was split from Coșoveni Commune in 2004 and had a population of about 4,600 according to the 2021 census.[6]
