Orocrambus simplex is a moth in the family Crambidae.[1] It was described by Arthur Gardiner Butler in 1877.[2][3] It is endemic to New Zealand,[4] where it has been recorded in Westland, Nelson Province, the central part of the North Island and the coastal area of southern Hawkes Bay.[5] The habitat where this species lives consists of tussock grasslands.[5]

The wingspan is 25–33 mm.[5] Adults have been recorded on wing from November to February.[5]

Larvae have been reared from Chionochloa rubra, Poa cita (formerly Poa caespitosa) and Poa annua.[6]
