Claudio Cataño Porras (born 18 September 1985)[1] is a Colombian actor and director. In 2024, he played Colonel Aureliano Buendía in the Netflix television series One Hundred Years of Solitude, based on the 1967 novel of the same name by Gabriel García Márquez.

Early life
Cataño was born in Bogotá to a family of artists.[2] His father, Mauricio Cataño, is a filmmaker. His grandfather, Mario Rivero , was a poet, and his uncle, Fausto Panesso, is a writer.[3][4] Cataño was raised by his grandparents in La Candelaria.[5][6] After being expelled from several schools for behavioral issues, he began studying theater at the Escuela Rubén Di Petro.[7]
Career
He made his television debut on Casados con hijos in 2005.[8] In 2016, he made his feature directorial debut with the film Moria, which he also wrote and executive produced.[9] In 2024, he played Colonel Aureliano Buendía in the Netflix television series One Hundred Years of Solitude, based on Gabriel García Márquez's 1967 novel of the same name.[10]
Personal life
Cataño was in a relationship with Cindy Herazo, with whom he has a son.[7][11] He later entered into a relationship with Valentina Acosta,[12] and was in a relationship with actress Patricia Castañeda, with whom he has a daughter, Anastasia. As of May 2023, he is in a relationship with actress María del Rosario .[1][13]
