Cork camogie has experienced four periods of ascendancy in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship, winning 24 titles in all. The team won six championships in an eight-year period, 1934-6 and 1939–41, won four-in-a-row 1970-4, won three titles in a five-year period 1978-83, five titles in a seven-year period 1992-8, and six more titles since 2002. The team also dominated the National Camogie League despite taking nine years to win their first title in 1984, winning seven-in-a-row 1995-2001 and ten titles in 13 years 1991-2003. Cork is the leading team at under-16 level, with 13 successes.^[2]

Cork have a rich Camogie history winning the most titles in all Senior competitions. 17 National League titles, 24 Munster Championship titles and 30 All Ireland Championship titles.

Cork are reigning All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship winners after beating Galway by 1-16 to 0-16 in the 2024 final. They also won the Munster Senior Camogie Championship, All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship and the Very Ireland National Camogie League Division 2B title in 2024.

It’s been a great start to 2025 as they have 6 titles won. The Munster Minor Championship, Munster U16 ‘A’ Championship, Munster U16 ‘B’ Championship, Munster U17 ‘A’ Shield Competition, Division 1A National League and the inaugural Munster U23 Championship!

It wasn’t to be for all 4 of Corks competing teams in the All-Ireland Finals. The Senior team were denied 3 in a row titles by a Galway side who were gunning from the start, in a game where 14 woman Cork played very well to only trail by a point at full time. 1-14 to 1-13 the final score. The Under 23 Team (who were huge favorites after beating their opponents by 10 points in the group stages) failed at lifting the inaugural ‘U23 A’ Cup after a battle that went down to the wire against Galway, It finished 1-11 to 1-8!

The Minor team were defeated by a gallant Kilkenny side 3-8 to 0-8. Cork had already beaten Kilkenny 3-10 to 1-13 in the encounter earlier in the Championship. Last but not least, The U16 ‘A’ team lost out to who else but Galway by 5-11 to 3-8 in the final.

A disappointing end to a great year for Cork with all 4 teams showing excellent skill, passion and hard work!

The club season is right around the corner however with games in the SE Systems Championships starting as soon as next weekend!
