Matabeleland mole-rat

The Matabeleland mole-rat (Cryptomys hottentotus nimrodi) is a subspecies of the common mole-rat found in Zimbabwe.^[1] Like the other subspecies and species of the genus, only one female is responsible for reproduction within the colony.^[1]
