Dilhani Lekamge

Nadeesha Dilhani Lekamge (born 14 October 1987) is a Sri Lankan javelin thrower. She won a silver medal at the 2017 Asian Championships.^[3]

Life

Lekamge was born in 1987 in the town of Eheliyagoda on Sri Lanka. It was there that she was educated at the Mahinda School.^[4]

She enlisted as a private in the Sri Lankan army.^[5] Lekamge is at present a corporal in the Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps.^[6]

She won a silver medal at the 2017 Asian Championships^[3] with a throw of 58.11m. She was placed fifth at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

At the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok she threw a national record javelin throw of 60.93m and she won the bronze medal. At the same games her fellow athlete Gayanthika Abeyratne also won a bronze medal in the 1500m.^[7]
