The FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup is an international futsal competition set to be contested by the senior women's national teams of the member associations of FIFA, the sport's global governing body. The competition was created by FIFA in December 2022,[1] with the first edition taking place in 2025.[2]

FIFA had previously announced plans for a women's futsal competition in 2018 and received criticism from futsal players for their "public neglect" of the sport.[3]

For the first edition, 16 teams will participate in the tournament.[4] The inaugural edition is to be hosted in the Philippines in 2025.[5]

Qualification

The first tournament will consist of 16 teams, with the allocated places listed below:[6]

  • AFC (3 teams) 22 teams in Qualification (+host)
  • CAF (2 teams) 9 teams in Qualification
  • CONCACAF (2 teams) 9 teams in Qualification
  • CONMEBOL (3 teams) 10 teams in Qualification
  • OFC (1 team) 5 teams in Qualification
  • UEFA (4 teams) 25 teams in Qualification
  • Host country (1 team)
