History

The True Promise Corps were founded in 2003 by Abu 'Ammar al-Iraqi against the coalition that invaded Iraq. In 2011, al-Sayyid al-Safi al-Musawi was elected secretary general. In 2013 they fought in Syria and against Daesh in Saladin Governorate, Tikrit and Fallujah.^[3] They are reportedly part of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, but they deny it.^[4] They congratulated the attacks on Israel, and launched rockets themselves.^[5]
