History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1320. One of the oldest breweries in the country can be found there, Zapovca.^{[citation needed]}

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 462 metres and covers an area of 8.57 km². It has a population of about 1,080 people.
