Perspective
The film follows the misadventures of a rookie cop, Will, who is partnered with an unhinged and morally questionable local officer, Terry, in the small Southern seaside town of Providence. While showing the rookie around on his first day, Terry eventually leaves Will alone in the cruiser to have sex with the wife of a local businessman. While Terry's inside, Will gets a call from dispatch which he mistakes for a request to investigate a burglary. After trying unsuccessfully to summon Terry, he decides to handle the job alone. Upon arriving at the address given by dispatch he finds the door ajar, and when he enters, he mistakenly fires at the occupant but misses her. She retaliates violently, and in the struggle, she is accidentally killed. Terry arrives later after hitching a ride with one of the locals. He finds Will distraught and soon uncovers a large basket of money in the house. They decide to abscond with the money and cover up the accident by trashing the place. It is revealed that the money belonged to a local fishery owner who was using it to pay off a hitman. The hitman threatens the fishery owner, who panics and goes after the person he thinks has the money and kills them. The fishery owner is subsequently killed, and his mistress kills the person who killed him which creates a domino effect of retaliatory murders all around the fifth deadly sin, greed.
