It was written by Bunton along with Hélène Muddiman and producer Mike Peden, while production was overseen by the latter. the song was released by 19 Recordings and Universal Records on 26 January 2004 as the album's third single, debuting and peaking at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart.

Released on 26 January 2004 in the United Kingdom, "I'll Be There" debuted and peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart in the week ending 7 February 2004,^[1] becoming Bunton's sixth non-consecutive top ten single.^[1] It also reached number ten on the Scottish Singles Chart.^[2]

A black-and-white music video for "I'll Be There," directed by Giuseppe Capotondi, was shot in Paris.
