Ixia acaulis

Ixia acaulis is a perennial flowering plant and geophyte belonging to the genus Ixia and is part of the vygieveld.^[1] The species is endemic to the Western Cape and occurs on the Knersvlakte. The plant has an area of occurrence of 35 km² and on all three properties where it occurs, prospecting work is being done for limestone and its exploitation.^[2]
