Jón Kristinsson (born 17 June 1942) is an Icelandic chess player, and two times winner of Icelandic Chess Championship (1971, 1974).

Perspective
From the beginning of the 1960s to the mid-1970s, Jón Kristinsson was one of the leading Icelandic chess players. He twice won Icelandic Chess Championships: in 1971 and 1974. In 1967, in Halle Jón Kristinsson participated in World Chess Championship European Zonal Tournament where he shared in 10th–14th place.[1]
