New Jersey Tranist bus routes 100-199 serve locations in Northern and Central New Jersey and New York City. All but one line terminate/originate at the Port Authority Bus Station (PABT) in Midtown or the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal in Washington Heights in Manhattan.

Many routes provide commuter service to New York during the morning rush hour and to New Jersey during the evening rush hour. During the morning rush, many PABT-bound buses make use of the Lincoln Tunnel express bus lane (XBL), a dedicated reversible lane (contra flow) bus lane that travels eastbound along New Jersey Route 495, including the Lincoln Tunnel Helix, which brings them to the toll plaza of the Lincoln Tunnel and eventually to bus-only ramps to the PABT. There is no west-bound XBL during the evening rush hour.

Some lines include buses scheduled to "serve Union City". These bus run along 30 and 30th streets, which run parallel and above the Route 495 expressway cut at street level. The designation does not include buses that make local stops other than along the highway corridor.

The list below is sorted by division, New York origination point, the New Jersey region served, major roads/streets used, general operational details (e.g. variations, express services, short turns, operating hours), history, and garages where the routes are based. Unless otherwise noted, "rush hour only" indicates New York-bound during the AM rush and New Jersey-bound during the PM rush.
