Lucas William Ribeiro Costa (born 9 October 1998)[citation needed] is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for South African club Mamelodi Sundowns. He is regarded as one of the best players in the South African Premiership and is known for his dribbling, shooting, passing and pace.

Ribeiro Costa is a youth product of Pinheiros, and then moved to France with Valenciennes.[1] Ribeiro Costa made his professional debut with Virton in a 3–2 Belgian First Division B win over Roeselare on 27 October 2019.[2] On 30 June 2020, Ribeiro Costa signed with Charleroi.[3]

On 1 February 2021, Ribeiro Costa moved to Belgian First Division B club RWDM on a loan deal until the end of the season.[4]

On 11 August 2021, he joined Mouscron on a season-long loan with an option to buy.[5] On 19 January 2022, Mouscron loan was terminated and Ribeiro Costa was loaned to Waasland-Beveren until the end of the season.[6] The option to buy was triggered on 6 April, and he signed a two-year contract with the club.[7]

On 6 July 2023 Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed his signing for a undisclosed fee.[8]

On 4 August 2023, he made his debut for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premiership in a 2–1 win against Sekhukhune United, where he scored his first goal for the club in the 57th minute.[9]

On 12 November 2023, he won his first cup with Mamelodi Sundowns as they beat Wydad Casablanca in the 2nd leg of the African Football League final in Pretoria with a score of 2–0 (3–2 on aggregate).[10]

Riberio was a part of Mamelodi Sundowns's squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. On 21 June 2025, in a group stage match against Borussia Dortmund, Ribeiro ran 67 yards past two Dortmund defenders and slotted the ball beyond Gregor Kobel, after receiving the ball within his own half. The goal was the opener in an eventual 3–4 loss.[11] The goal was later announced as the goal of the tournament by FIFA.[12]
