Matías Gastón Castro (born 18 December 1991) is an Argentine-Chilean^[1] professional footballer who plays as a striker for Italian club Sancataldese ^[it].

Career

In 2021, Castro joined Colombian club Independiente de Santa Fe.^[2] In 2022, he moved to Jordanian club Al-Wehdat.^[3] On second half 2022, he returned to South America and signed with Montevideo Wanderers.^[4]

In February 2023, Castro joined Paraguayan side Sportivo Luqueño.^[5]

Back to Argentina, Castro played for Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza and Deportivo Morón during 2024.^[6] In February 2025, he signed with Atlético Rafaela.^[7]

On 29 July 2025, Castro moved to Italy and joined Serie D club Sancataldese ^[it].^[8]

Personal life

He holds dual nationality: Argentine-Chilean. On 2017, he acquired the Chilean nationality by descent according to the Chilean law, due to the fact that his paternal grandfather is Chilean.^[1]
