Methylketol or 2-methylindole is a mildly toxic and slightly flammable organic compound which occurs as a white solid which turns brown over time.[1][2] It has chemical formula C9H9N.[3]
Methylketol is used as an intermediate for synthesizing dyes,[4] pigments,[5] optical brighteners, and pharmaceuticals.[6]
