Mythological Minotaur
The first Minotaur is based on the Greek mythology monster of the same name and has largely the same origins as him. After being killed by Theseus, the Minotaur is resurrected in the modern day by Matsu'o Tsurayaba and the Hand. However, he is defeated by Wolverine and petrified before being awakened by Deadpool.[1][2][3][4][5]
Species
When Ares allies with Enchantress and steals the Ebony Blade from Black Knight, they rallie the Minotaurs, Centaurs, and Satyrs to attack Mount Olympus before being defeated by Hercules and the Avengers.[6]
Myklos Vryolak
Miklos Vryolak is a Greek man who suffered from an unknown, uncurable disease. His father heals him using a chemical he discovered in the ruins of the labyrinth, which inadvertently transforms him into a Minotaur. Dr. Vryolak then manipulates Miklos into committing crimes to supply him with materials necessary to create an army of Minotaurs, convincing him that he is producing a cure to his transformation. When Iron Man arrives and battles the Vryolaks at their grotto, Miklos learns of his father's true intentions and sacrifices himself so Iron Man can escape, leaving himself and Dr. Vryolak to be buried in rubble.[2]
Decimus Furius
Decimus Furius is an ancient Roman who became homeless after his parents both committed suicide. During this time, his mutant powers activate, transforming him into a Minotaur. Subsequently, he is imprisoned, transferred to fight in the Colosseum for his freedom, and becomes worshiped as a god.[7]
Apocalypse later recruits Minotaur to become War, one of his Horsemen. However, he falls in love with Psylocke, who cleanses his mind.[8]
Dario Agger
Dario Agger is the CEO of Roxxon Energy Corporation who gained his abilities as a child after unknowingly making a pact with a dark god when his family were attacked by gunmen.[9] After S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Rosalind Solomon exposes Agger's crimes, Thor comes into conflict with him and vows to stop his destruction of the environment.[10][11]
In Original Sin, Agger obtains Laufey's skull and a fight ensues between him, Malekith, the Frost Giants, and Thor. Agger and Malekith make a deal to allow Roxxon to mine whatever worlds Malekith conquers.[9][12][13] The two then kill one hundred Light Elves and use their blood to resurrect Laufey.[14]
In All-New, All-Different Marvel, Minotaur appears as a member of the Dark Council alongside Malekith, Ulik, Laufey, and the Fire Demons.[15]
Dario Agger attended a meeting at the Universal Bank with Tiberius Stone of Alchemax, Wilson Fisk of Fisk Industries, Sebastian Shaw of Shaw Industries, Darren Cross of Cross Technological Enterprises, Zeke Stane of Stane International, Shingen Harada of the Yashida Corporation, Frr'dox of Shi'ar Solutions Consolidated, and Wilhelmina Kensington of Kilgore Arms. They discuss with Agger about his and Roxxon Energy Corporation's plans to exploit the Ten Realms of Asgard, which he kept it secret from them. After Agger refused to offer to share that "new market" with the other company leaders, Frr'dox threatened Agger from experiencing unprecedented problems with interstellar custom. Then, Shingen Harada threatened Agger and attacked him. Before Agger and Harada could begin fighting, Exterminatrix of the Midas Corporation showed up and knocked out Agger while claiming that she is the new member of their group. Agger is taken hostage by Exterminatrix while Harada attacks an underwater station in the Southern Ocean, where he encounters Thor who defeats him by hitting him with her hammer several times. They later attack Roxxon Corporation HQ in order to steal from his vault. Just when Shingen opened the vault, Agger transforms into Minotaur and knocks him out. Before he could attack Exterminatrix, who just defeated S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Roz Solomon, Thor shows up and attacks them with her lighting. Then, the Agger Imperative is activated, causing the floating island where the building is to fall down. While S.H.I.E.L.D. evacuates the building, Thor destroys the island. Agger is later arrested along with the other villains.[16]
Agger and Roxxon later take interest in Weapon H after he kills the Ur-Wendigo and use the Brood and a specially-grown Man-Thing spiked with the DNA of Groot to attack him. While battling Weapon H, Agger explains that he seeks to harness the energy of Weirdworld, which could power the entirety of Earth for up to one million years. After Witch Queen Morgan le Fay mind-controls Weapon H, Agger battles her to save Weirdworld. In the aftermath, Agger plans to manipulate Hulk and Wolverine into battling Weapon H.[17]
Dario Agger and Roxxon collaborate with Baron Zemo in a plan to make the Hydra-occupied Bagalia be recognized as an independent nation by having Mandarin be the public face for Bagalia.[18]
Dario Agger was hinted in a discussion between the Leader and former Weapon X scientist Aliana Alba as someone who wants Weapon H dead.[19]
During The War of the Realms storyline, Minotaur was present with Malekith as he begins his invasion on Midgard. Minotaur and Roxxon later take over Antarctica. During the fight at Roxxon's Antarctica HQ, Minotaur fights Jane Foster and Roz Solomon. When Dario's Minotaur identity is exposed, Roxxon's stocks end up in a free fall.[20] However, Agger avoids prosecution by claiming that he was coerced into helping in Malekith's invasion.[21]
In The Immortal Hulk, Minotaur allies with Xemnu, who later attacks and deforms him after he objects to his plan to transform others into Xemnu hybrids. Leader later speaks through Rick Jones and tells him to leave Hulk to him.[22][23]
In The Immortal Thor, Agger restores his body using a machine created by Roxxon scientist Dr. Lamarr, but retains a skull-like head and hoof-like hands in his Minotaur form. He allies with Enchantress and Executioner after buying out the in-comics version of Marvel Comics and arranging to have Keep become Roxxon's version of Thor. After Keep died in battle against Thor, Minotaur was betrayed by Enchantress and killed by Executioner.[24]
Lamarr later resurrects Agger with a combination of blood sacrifice and a special machine.[25][26] Agger hires Grey Gargoyle, King Cobra, Mister Hyde, and Radioactive Man to attack Thor. He also has Mr. Lowry fabricate the information about "Dario Agger Jr." in his plans to retake Roxxon.[27]
