My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren't Wicked (いびってこない義母と義姉, Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Otsuji. It began serialization on Ichijinsha's Comic Pool section on the Pixiv Comic website in November 2020. An anime television series adaptation produced by Newon is set to premiere in 2026.

Premise

Following the death of her mother, Miya Nakamura learned she was her father's illegitimate child and later adopted into his family. Contrary to the scary dispositions her new stepmother and stepsisters have, they outright adore her and help her adjust. Due to her anthropophobia, Miya tends to misunderstand their intentions.

Written and illustrated by Otsuji, My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren't Wicked began serialization on Ichijinsha's Comic Pool section on the Pixiv Comic website on November 19, 2020.[3] Its chapters have been collected into seven wideban volumes as of December 2024.[4] The series is licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.[5]

Anime

An anime television series adaptation was announced on July 22, 2025. The series will be produced by Newon and directed by Keisuke Inoue, with Nanami Hoshino handling series composition and Mutsumi Sasaki designing the characters. It is set to premiere in 2026.[2]

Reception

The series was nominated for the seventh Next Manga Awards in the web category in 2021 and was ranked seventh out of 50 nominees.[19] The series was ranked seventeenth in the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook for the best manga for female readers.[20] The series, along with Fushiashikumo's The Great Snake's Bride, won the Men's Comic Prize at Comic Solmare's "Minna ga Erabu!! Denshi Comic Taishō 2023" competition.[21]
