Nam Ji-hyun (Korean: 남지현; born September 17, 1995) is a South Korean actress. Nam began her career in 2004 as a child actress in the television series Say You Love Me (2004). She is best known for her roles in Queen Seondeok (2009), Suspicious Partner (2017), 100 Days My Prince (2018), 365: Repeat the Year (2020), and Good Partner (2024).

Early life and education
Nam Ji-hyun was born on September 17, 1995 at Bupyeong District, Incheon, South Korea.[2] She enrolled in Sogang University as a Psychology major in 2014, and finished her degree in February 2020,[3] while she remained as an active actress in between her studies.[4]

2004–2015: Beginnings as a child actress

In February 2004, Nam began her acting career through MBC television series titled Say You Love Me (2004).[5]
In 2008, Nam won a Best Young Actress award at the 2008 MBC Drama Awards for her performance in the East of Eden (2008).[6]
In 2009, she starred in the historical drama Queen Seondeok (2009), she played the role of the young Queen Sondeok.[7] Later that year, Nam starred in Will It Snow for Christmas? (2009) alongside actor Kim Soo-Hyun.[8]
In 2011, Nam starred in the dark fantasy films A Reason to Live (2011), which featured Song Hye-kyo.[9]
She later appeared in the miniseries Girl Detective, Park Hae-sol (2012),[10] followed by the teen drama To the Beautiful You (2012)[11] and the film Hwayi: A Monster Boy (2013).[12] She also starred in the series Angel Eyes (2014)[13][14] and What Happens to My Family? (2014).[15]
2016–present: Rising popularity and leading roles

In 2016, she headlined her first drama, MBC's romantic-comedy Shopping King Louie with Seo In-guk, where she impressed viewers with her acting.[16]
In 2017, she starred in SBS's legal drama Suspicious Partner alongside Ji Chang-wook.[17][18] The show enjoyed modest viewership share, but it beat its competitor by topping the important 20-49 year old demographic, as well as streaming, popularity, and brand reputation charts for consecutive weeks.
In 2018, Nam starred alongside Exo's D.O in the historical romance drama 100 Days My Prince.[19][20] The series was a commercial success, becoming the twelfth highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history.[21]
In 2020, Nam starred in the fantasy mystery thriller 365: Repeat the Year as a perfectionist webtoon writer.[22][23]
