Non-hallucinogenic 5-HT2A Agonist
Subclass of psychedelic drugs From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Non-hallucinogenic psychedelics (NHPs) are a subclass of serotonergic psychedelics which putatively lack hallucinogenic effects while retaining the psychoplastogenic effects of classical psychedelics.[1] In pre-clinical models, animals treated with non-hallucinogenic psychedelics exhibit fewer 5-HT2A hallucinogen-associated behaviors at doses which produce rapid-acting antidepressant effects.[1][2] The psychoplastogenic effects of non-hallucinogenic psychedelics coincide with their rapid-acting anti-depressant effects in animal models.[3]
It has been suggested that non-hallucinogenic psychedelics may be more suitable for broader clinical use as compared to classical psychedelics due to their potentially reduced perception-altering effects.[4]

Pharmacology
The mechanism by which non-hallucinogenic psychedelics exert their perception-sparing effects is unknown, although biased agonism at the 5-HT2A receptor appears to be a prevalent hypothesis.[5][6][7] Low intrinsic efficacy has also been proposed as a potential mechanism.[8]
