History
The area became part of the emerging Polish state under its first ruler Mieszko I around 967,[3][4] and following Poland's fragmentation it formed part of the Duchy of Pomerania. As the result of German immigration, it became known as Wussow. In 1277, the settlement was purchased by the city of Szczecin/Stettin.[5] During the Thirty Years' War, the settlement was ruled by the Swedish Empire but stayed part of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. Later on, it passed to Prussia. Even though located on the western side of the Oder, it was still assigned to Poland at Stalin's request.
