The Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) is a membership-driven, nonprofit organization that supports snowsports instructors through education, certification, and community engagement. They partner with snowsports schools, resort management, and industry stakeholders to advance world-class instruction and development. PSIA-AASI is dedicated to fostering professional development of its members by providing career-enhancing opportunities, leadership training, and business skills education to ensure long-term success in the snowsports industry. PSIA-AASI counts 34,000+ individual and 300+ school members, as well as 50+ corporate partners and 40+ international peer organizations, as part of our global community. Through eight regions, hundreds of education staff members, and thousands of annual local events, PSIA-AASI is active year-round in every state with a ski area.

PSIA-AASI supports instructional programs in alpine skiing, snowboarding, telemark skiing, cross-country skiing, and adaptive skiing and riding.
Since 1961, PSIA-AASI has carved a way of life out of sharing the gift of skiing and snowboarding. From the breakthrough instructional psychology of student-centered teaching in the 1970s to adaptive, cross-country, and women’s instruction in the 1980s to the game-changing advent of snowboarding and explosion of freestyle in the beginning of the 20th century, PSIA-AASI has built an international reputation as one of the most imaginative and continuously evolving international organizations in all of sports.
PSIA-AASI’s national office is in Lakewood, Colorado, and there are eight regional divisions across the country: Central, Eastern, Intermountain, Northern Intermountain, Northern Rocky Mountain, Northwest, Rocky Mountain, and Western.
