Horror is a daimon appearing only in Seneca's Oedipus.^[1]

Etymology

Horror literally means shaking, trembling, and the feeling of horror.^[2] This meaning is shared by the word φρίκη (phríkē),^[3] which is used often in Ancient Greek tragedy.^{[citation needed]}
