Pierre-Édouard Stérin (born 3 January 1974 in Évreux) is a French entrepreneur and billionaire.
He is the cofounder of Smartbox, a gift card company, Otium Capital, an investment fund, and the Fondation du Bien Commun, a philanthropic organization.[1][2][3][4]Since then, he has lived in Belgium for tax reasons and justifies his move as follows: "I am very critical of the government. So many freedoms are being curtailed, and all the taxes imposed on us are being misused." This, he says, is the main reason he left France in 2012 and settled in Belgium.[5]
His fortune is estimated at around 1.3 billion euros (1.5 billion dollars)[6]
Together with the right-wing media entrepreneur and millionaire Vincent Bolloré, he organized the "Summit of Freedoms" ("sommet des libertés") in 2025. At the summit, media makers brought together conservative and right-wing extremist politicians.[5]
He is close to traditional Catholicism.[7] Stérin is married and has five children.[5]
