RTVC Sistema de Medios Públicos

RTVC Sistema de Medios Públicos (abbreviation of Radio Televisión Nacional de Colombia, known by its acronym RTVC) is a public radio and television entity of Colombia, created by Decree 3525 of October 28, 2004, by dissolving Inravisión and its public production company Audiovisuales, under the government of President Álvaro Uribe Vélez.

RTVC is a state entity, linked to the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications and its function is to produce, program and operate state radio and television services, such as Señal Colombia, Canal Institucional, Radio Nacional de Colombia and Radiónica. In addition, it manages a network of eight state channels with regional coverage.

With the refocusing of RTVC's administration, the entity launched the web stations Signal Classic and Signal Llanera. In addition, it has the Memoria Signal platform, whose programming is made up of the audiovisual archives of radio and television in Colombia, and RTVCPlay OTT Service, the free entertainment content platform. Currently RTVC also has RTVC Noticias, everyone's newscast, with information on Colombia and its regions in its own accent.

Regional channels

It is also responsible for the operations of the two regional channels, both broadcasting in departments of the country located in the regions of the Andes, the Llanos and the Amazon.

Radio

Peace Stations

In compliance with point 6.5 of the Peace Agreement, signed between the National Government and the FARC-EP component, RTVC Sistema de Medios Públicos (RTVC Public Media System) operates 16 National Radio of Colombia stations, with four more expected to be implemented in 2024, to complete the 20 stations contemplated in the Agreement.

These peace stations broadcast cultural, musical, and informative content that highlights regional cultures, ventures, and projects, with a focus on teaching about the contents of the Final Agreement.

Señal Memoria	It is the most important audiovisual archive in Colombia that preserves approximately 170,000 audiovisual and sound documents, produced and broadcast by the National Radio since 1940 and by national public television since 1954, as well as film material produced since the 1940s. The documents in the catalog are divided and organized into the following collections: History and Political Situation, Culture and Society, History of the Media and Colombia and the World. Signal Memoria's mission is also to safeguarding the country's sound and audiovisual archive through the creation of its own content such as The Voice of Power, a transmedia project that analyzes the speech of Colombian presidents since the mid-20th century, or The Stories of Diana Uribe, a podcast to learn about the natural and cultural diversity of Colombia.
RTVCPlay	It is the free online entertainment platform of the Public Media System, with content from the Colombian audiovisual industry, originals, acquisitions and RTVC brands, such as series, films, documentaries, children's programs and podcasts. Its catalog contains feature films that have marked the history of the country such as La vendedora de rosas, The Millionaire Taxi Driver, Dog Eat Dog, A Man of Principle, and Embrace of the Serpent, among others.

News operation

RTVC also connects citizens with local, national and international information through RTVC Noticias and Señal de la Mañana.

RTVC Noticias	RTVC Noticias is the Colombian Public Media System's first newscast, with a focus on regions and relevant content that contributes to building citizenship. With correspondents in major cities around the world, it has a special focus on the regions, with its own journalists and the support of the Radio Nacional team in municipalities where no other media outlet reaches. It collaborates with all of the system's platforms as well as features special coverage and breaking news bulletins. This news is broadcast from Monday to Friday, at 12 noon and 7:00 p.m., as well as on weekends and holidays, at 7:00 p.m.
Señal de la Mañana	Señal de la Mañana is RTVC's morning news program on Radio Nacional and the Canal Institutional, with content on television, social networks and digital platforms. With a team of journalists distributed from San Andrés to Leticia, Señal de la Mañana is aired from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Radio Nacional's 73 frequencies, which include the Emisoras de Paz, and is also aired on the Institutional Channel from 6:00 to 8:00 a.m.
