Early life

RXKNephew was raised in Rochester, New York. He was born when his mother was seventeen years old and raised primarily by his grandmother.[3]

Career

RXKNephew is noted for his prolific output, having released over 400 songs in 2021 alone.[4][5] One of his most notable releases is the nine-minute song "American Tterroristt" (2020),[6][2] which received acclaim from critics[5][4] and which Pitchfork put at number 2 on their 2024 list of "The Hundred Best Songs of the 2020s So Far".[7] His 2021 studio album Slitherman Activated also received coverage from media outlets such as Pitchfork.[8] In June 2025, he released a diss track addressed to Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, a U.S Senator from Pennsylvania.[9]

Music

RXKNephew is noted for his use of "atypical beats",[8] incorporating influences from techno, house, hip house,[8] and horrorcore.[4] His lyrical content has been said to capture a sense of "omnipresent paranoia [...] undercut by a sadistically absurd sense of humour",[10] juxtaposing imagery of death and violence (often inspired by real events of his life[3]) with absurd punchlines. In addition, his writing is often provocative, at times "flagrantly offensive".[5] For instance, his work contains references to controversial conspiracy theories on subjects such as the COVID-19 vaccine[5] and the election of Joe Biden, as well as references to other rappers, such as Lil Reese, E-40, and King Von.[4]

He has frequently been compared by critics to California rapper Lil B,[5][8][10][4][6][2] with comparisons drawn between their quantity of output and stream of consciousness or "off-the-cuff" rapping style.[10]

RXKNephew has made multiple collaborations with fellow Rx collective member Rx Papi. The duo have previously produced music under the name Neph & Pap and released a collaborative EP in 2020 entitled Oh Shit That's Nep & Pap There They Go.[11]
