From Ahmedabad, trains are hauled by a Vadodara Loco Shed-based WAP-4E electric locomotive uptil Itarsi. From Itarsi trains are hauled by an Itarsi Loco Shed-based WDM-3A diesel locomotive uptil Rewa and vice versa.
