Remya Nambeesan (born 24 March 1986) is an Indian actress and playback singer, who primarily works in Malayalam and Tamil films. She has acted in over 72 films. She started her career as child artist and supporting roles in early 2000s, and went appear to lead roles in the mid-2000s. Apart from Malayalam and Tamil languages, she appears in Telugu and Kannada languages films too.

Early life and family
Remya Nambessan was born in Chottanikkara, Kochi, Kerala[1] to Subrahmaniam Unni and Jayasree.[2][3] Her father is a former theatre artiste, who was an active member of troupes such as "Jubilee" and "Harishree". She has a brother, Rahul,[2] who has worked as the music director in the Malayalam movie Philips and the Monkey Pen and as a playback singer in the film Thattathin Marayathu.[4] She attended the Mahatma Gandhi Public School, Ambadimala near Chottanikkara. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communicative English from St. Teresa's College, Ernakulam.[5]

Career
Remya started her career with minor supporting roles in the following years in films including Sathyan Anthikad's satire film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001)[6] and Gramophone (2003).[2][7][8]
She played her first lead role, as a bold dance teacher, in the 2006 film Aanachandam.[9][10][11][2][12][13] [14][15][16][17][18][19]
She was seen in Bachelor Party (2012)[20][21] and in Ivan Megharoopan (2012), she featured in a cameo appearance.[17] She also signed up for Saji Surendran's comedy film Husbands in Goa (2012).[20] and Oru Yathrayil (2013).[22][23][24][25][26][27][28]

Other work
She was a host before acting.[29][5] She has sung on devotional albums for Chottanikarai Bhagavathi.[2] She has also sung in a few Malayalam films.[30][31][4][32]
