Svenska Akademiens ordbok (Swedish: [ˈsvɛ̂nːska akadɛˈmiːns ˈûːɖbuːk]), abbreviated SAOB, is a historical dictionary of the Swedish language published by the Swedish Academy. It is the Swedish counterpart of the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) or the Deutsches Wörterbuch (DWB).

Work on the dictionary started in 1787. The first edition was published in 39 volumes between 1898 and 2023, in Swedish alphabetical order, and contains over 500,000 entries.[1] Updating of the earlier volumes, A to R, is expected to continue until 2030.[1] About 200 hardcopy sets, totalling 33,111 pages, have been printed.[1] The searchable web version has been available since 1997. Citations date back to 1521.[1]
