Sailing at the 2003 Pan American Games was contested at the XIV edition of the Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from August 1 to 17, 2003. The competition featured eight sailing disciplines—men’s and women’s Olympic classes (Men’s Mistral, Women’s Mistral, Laser, Laser Radial) and open classes (Sunfish, Snipe, Hobie 16, J/24)—hosted at the Santo Domingo Yacht Club on Andrés Bay. A total of 119 sailors from 16 countries participated, with medals awarded across the eight events to competitors representing 13 nations. Standout performances included Brazil’s Ricardo Santos claiming gold in the Men’s Mistral and the United States’ Lanee Butler winning the Women’s Mistral event. The event reflected both Olympic and regional sailing traditions and contributed to the broader programme of 338 medal events at Santo Domingo 2003.
