Salt and vinegar chips are a potato chip variety. It is considered to be a "staple" in the United Kingdom and is one of the earliest varieties of flavoured chips.^[1][2] Salt and vinegar chips are the fourth-most popular potato chip flavour worldwide. Sometimes the salt used in the chips is sea salt.^[3]

Salt and vinegar chips have a noticeable scent when bags are opened.^[4] According to a writer for the Tasting Table, the flavour pairs well with beer.^[5] Multiple brands that sell the variety only use vegan ingredients.^[6][7]
