On 14 October 2022, 23-year-old Indian radiology student Sharon Raj drank a pesticide-laced herbal concoction, provided to him by his girlfriend, Greeshma. Raj died from multiple organ failure eleven days later, on 25 October 2022.

In January 2025, the Additional District Sessions Court in Neyyattinkara sentenced the prime accused, Greeshma, to death.[2][3]

On 14 October 2022, Greeshma lured her boyfriend, Sharon Raj, to her home in Ramavarmanchirai near Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, where she gave him an Ayurvedic tonic laced with paraquat, a highly toxic herbicide. Eleven days later, on 25 October 2022, Sharon died due to multiple organ failure.[4][5][6]
Greeshma committed the crime to end her relationship with Sharon.[6][7][8]
