The Six Kalmas (Urdu: چھ کلمے chh kalme, Arabic: ٱلكَلِمَات ٱلسِتّ al-kalimāt as-sitt, also spelled qalmah), also known as the Six Traditions or Six Phrases, are Islamic prayers recited by South Asian Muslims.[1][failed verification] Derived from hadiths, they aid children in memorising key beliefs[1] and are taught in South Asian madrasas.[2] Some consider them important, while others do not, noting that they are not in the Quran and not substantiated by Muhammad.
