Lead
- " An left-handed opening batsman, " An or A?
- Five paragraphs are too much, should be condensed
- Why is Limited overs cricket starting with caps?
- "Prior to thumb injuries in 2016, he predominantly fielded at slip but subsequently moved to midwicket." Not supported by ref and not mentioned anywhere in the body.
- "On 23 January 2017, he became the fourth player to win the Allan Border Medal more than once and also win the award in consecutive years." this feat is not mentioned anywhere in the body.
- "Currently, he is ranked 6th in the list of top Test batsmen in the world, according to the official ICC Player Rankings, published in February 2019." not supported by ref or mentioned in the body
- "He is the first Australian and sixth overall to reach 1,500 T20I runs" T20I not wikilinked
- Haven't read the whole body, but the lead seems overloaded with too many unnecessary records. Keep the ones that are relevant. Maybe make a separate section for his records?
- "He is also the first Australian batsman to score 7 ODI centuries in a calendar year." - neither sourced nor mentioned in the body.
- "On 27 March 2018, following a preliminary investigation into ball tampering by the Australian team in the Third Test of their 2018 Tour of South Africa by Cricket Australia, Warner, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft were suspended, charged with bringing the game into disrepute, and sent home." - too complicated, rephrase with consistent format. Also, why is Third Test caps?
- "Australian under-19s" I believe it could be wikilinked

lead statement
I think " a former captain of the Australian national team in limited overs formats" should be removed as he was only acting captain in that capacity when Smith was unavailable. LibStar (talk) 01:08, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

David Warner (cricketer) → David Warner – The cricketer is more notable. This is also a possible reality in England Servite et contribuere (talk) 06:49, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose - I don't think it's clear enough that David Warner (cricketer) is the primary topic. WikiNav says that about 60% of clicks to go the cricketer, while 35% go to David Warner (actor), which is a good difference but doesn't show a
single significant usage that maps to almost all of the incoming traffic and overwhelms all other usages
. Going by pageviews, David Warner (actor) generally gets more pageviews per day, and has about 24% more pageviews over the past year. --Iiii I I I (talk) 07:33, 25 February 2025 (UTC)- I don't know if someone who proposes it is allowed to vote, but David Warner (actor) did die recently, and when someone dies, significant page viewing is possible Servite et contribuere (talk) 07:53, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, of course you're free to respond and argue your point, but the actor died nearly three years ago, and the pageviews I linked only include the past 12 months, so any post-death spike in traffic wouldn't be included. Iiii I I I (talk) 08:05, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- I'm probably staying out of voting myself TBH. Leave it to the experts on these issues. The reason I thought David Warner (cricketer) would be more popular is probably because I don't really watch Movies or TV Shows myself Servite et contribuere (talk) 13:53, 25 February 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose. Per the pageviews cited by User:Iiii I I I, the David Warner (actor) article generally gets more pageviews per day. The actor may also have equal relative notability, especially in the United States where cricket is not as a popular sport, and the actor has worked in several notable American films and TV shows (Tron, two Star Trek films, the 1997 film Titanic to name a few). - Oppose move. The actor gets more page views. O.N.R. (talk) 13:04, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose. A pretty clear case of no primary topic. Even if the actor didn't get more pageviews, the cricketer is a lot younger and only just ended his career last year. --Quiz shows 19:12, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
