Tryptophan—phenylpyruvate transaminase

In enzymology, a tryptophan-phenylpyruvate transaminase (EC 2.6.1.28) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction:

L-tryptophan + phenylpyruvate ${\displaystyle \rightleftharpoons }$ (indol-3-yl)pyruvate + L-phenylalanine
