The Windows 10 2022 Update[1] (codenamed "22H2"[2]) is the thirteenth and final[3][4][5] major update to Windows 10. It carries the build number 10.0.19045.

The first preview was released to Insiders who opted in to the Release Preview Channel on July 28, 2022.[2] The update began rolling out on October 18, 2022.[1][6] Notable changes introduced after the initial public release of the November 2022 Update include:

  • Re-introduction of the search box on the taskbar
  • The availability of Copilot in Windows
  • Richer weather experience on the lock screen
  • Additional quick status (such as sports, traffic, and finance) on lock screen
  • New Windows Spotlight desktop theme
  • New account manager experience on the Start menu

The update will reach end of service on October 14, 2025.[7]

Windows 10, version 22H2 is the only Windows 10 update to be eligible for the paid Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, which offers continued security updates until October 13, 2026 for consumers, or at most October 10, 2028 for businesses and schools.[8]
