Yash Raj Paswan (born 27 June 2000) is an Indian politician and social worker from Bihar. He is the candidate of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) for the Alauli (SC) constituency in the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election.[1]

Early life and education
Yash Raj Paswan was born on 27 June 2000 into the Paswan political family of Bihar. He is the son of Pashupati Kumar Paras, former Union Minister of India, and the nephew of Ram Vilas Paswan and Ram Chandra Paswan. His cousins include Chirag Paswan and Prince Raj.[2]
He completed his Bachelor of Arts (General) from O.P. Jindal University, Sonipat, Haryana.
Political career
Yash Raj Paswan began his political journey with the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), led by his father, Pashupati Kumar Paras. In 2025, he contested his first election from the Alauli seat, a constituency historically associated with the Paswan family. His nomination and campaign have been widely covered by the media.[3]
Family background
Yash Raj Paswan belongs to one of Bihar’s most prominent Dalit political families. His father, Pashupati Kumar Paras, is a senior RLJP leader and former Union Minister. His uncle, the late Ram Vilas Paswan, was a long-serving Cabinet Minister and founder of the Lok Janshakti Party. His other uncle, Ram Chandra Paswan, was a former MP. His cousins include Chirag Paswan, current Union Minister, and Prince Raj, former MP.[4]
