Etymology
From عبادت (ʼibâdet, “worship, adoration”) + ایتمك (etmek, “to do; to make”).
Verb
- (intransitive) to worship, venerate, revere, adore, to reverence a deity with respect and awe

- (intransitive) to pray, to direct words, thoughts, or one's attention to a deity or any higher being
