Of the noun pattern 1i23ṯā. Learned borrowing from Classical Syriac, from Aramaic מֵלְּתָא (melləṯā); compare Hebrew מִלָּה (milá) with the sense of “logos” a semantic loan from Ancient Greek λόγος (lógos).
