  2. (sports) The plus-minus statistic for a player; the net number of points or goals scored while a player is on the playing surface; the number of points or goals made by the player's team during such times minus what the opposing team scored during the same intervals.
  3. (sciences) The tolerance or statistical margin of error of a quantity.
  4. (chess) White win by forfeit.
