(verse form): First used by the Ancient Greek poet Asclepius.

Asclepiad (plural Asclepiads)

  1. (poetry) A choriambic verse consisting of four metrical feet: a spondee, two choriambi, and an iambus.
  2. (Ancient Greece) A member of one of the families that claimed descent from Asclepius, known as physicians or healers.
  3. (botany) Any member of the Asclepiadaceae.
