Central Franconian
Alternative forms
Etymology
From a northern Old High German *iodar, from Proto-Germanic *eudarą, a byform of *ūdarą. Compare Middle Low German jeder, Old Frisian jāder. The variants above are all from the ū-form. The eu-form finds its continuation towards the north (Kleverländisch, Bergisch, Sauerländisch), but Ripuarian seems to be the only High German dialect in which it is found.
Pronunciation
Noun
Eeder n (plural Eedere) (much of Ripuarian, especially central and eastern dialects)
