Gibbs-Thomson equation (plural Gibbs-Thomson equations)
- (thermodynamics) An equation for the structural depression in the freezing point or melting point in a confined geometry, in its compact form: where the Gibbs–Thomson coefficient assumes different values for different liquids and different interfacial geometries (e.g. spherical, cylindrical or planar).
