afterbath (plural afterbaths)

1. A dyebath that has already been used to dye something.

     After its inital^[sic] use, the dyebath is known as the afterbath. The second use is called the first afterbath, the third use is the second afterbath, and so on (see illustration of Hapilopilus nidulans dyebath results, below).
