From Portuguese arrátel, from Andalusian Arabic الرَطْل (“rottol”), from Arabic الرَطْل (ar-raṭl), from Aramaic רִיטְלָא / ܪܺܝܛܠܳܐ (rīṭlā), variant of לִיטְרָא / ܠܺܝܛܪܳܐ (līṭrā), from Ancient Greek λίτρα (lítra, “libra, Roman pound”).
